Bolling Campaign Responds to Jody Wagner's Latest Dishonest Attack Ad
RICHMOND - Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling's campaign today released the following statement today, in response to Jody Wagner's latest attempt to lie to Virginians about Lieutenant Governor Bolling's record.
Matt Wells, Bolling's Campaign Manager, said, "It appears that Ms. Wagner has decided to end her campaign on the same note she ended her career in public service: by making up numbers. Ms. Wagner's claim that Bill Bolling only attended 6% of his state meetings is an outright lie and she knows it. Ms. Wagner continues to cherry-pick meetings, including meetings of a board that Bill is not even a member of, in a desperate attempt to distort the truth. Lieutenant Governor Bolling has personally attended nearly 80% of the meetings of all of the bodies on which he sits, including presiding over every session of the State Senate. The truth is that Bill Bolling has been one of Virginia's most active Lieutenant Governors, a fact noted by numerous editorial pages in recent days."
"Additionally, Ms. Wagner continues to claim that Bill Bolling is a health insurance executive. This is also an outright lie. Lieutenant Governor Bolling is not a health insurance executive and he does not work for a health insurance company. He is not even licensed to sell health insurance."
"Jody Wagner's entire campaign has been based on fiction. She has lied about Bill Bolling's record at every opportunity in an effort to conceal her own record of fiscal mismanagement and support for higher taxes. Ms. Wagner should be ashamed of the negative and dishonest campaign she has run."
