Bill and Jean Ann Bolling met while attending the University of Charleston. They were married in 1978 and moved to Mechanicsville in Hanover County in 1981 to put down roots and start their family.

Bill and Jean Ann Bolling met while attending the University of Charleston and were married in 1978. Bill and Jean Ann moved to Mechanicsville in Hanover County in 1981 to put down roots and begin their family. Bill and Jean Ann have two sons, Matthew and Kevin.
Bill Bolling is currently serving as the 40th Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, a post he has held since 2006.
Professionally, Bill is employed as a Vice President with Riggs, Counselman, Michaels and Downes, one of the nation's largest independent insurance agencies. For detailed biographical information on Bill Bolling, please read The Bill Bolling Story.
Jean Ann Bolling is a dedicated mother and full time home maker. She is actively involved in number of civic organizations, including Community Bible Study. Jean Ann also serves on the Joint Hospitals Board for Bon Secours Richmond Health System, the Citizens Advisory Board for Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, and the VCU Massey Cancer Center Advisory Board.
Matthew is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he received a B.S. in Computer Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. He is currently employed as a senior consultant and project manager with Richmond, VA based Information Technology company Amentra, Inc. (a Red Hat company). Matthew also owns a small web site design and computer business that he formed while in middle school. Matthew is the webmaster for BillBolling.com.
Kevin graduated from James Madison University in 2010 with a degree in business administration. He currently lives in Falls Chruch, Virginia, where he is employed by Accenture, Inc., a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. Kevin has worked for a number of Republican candidates, including presidential candidate Mitt Romney, U.S. Senate candidate Jim Gilmore, Senator Mark Obenshain, Delegate Matt Lohr, and, of course, his dad.
