Thirty-six new jobs will be headed to the Valley. The WhiteWave Foods Company will invest $70 million to expand its operation in Rockingham County.

Gov. Bob McDonnell’s Rural Jobs Council met in Danville on Monday was led by the administration’s chief jobs creation officer, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.

The Governor’s Rural Jobs Council today released the interim report to the governor. The council divided its work into three subcommittees: infrastructure, entrepreneurship and workforce development/K-12 education. The council’s progress and activities are detailed in each subcommittee report.
